Course Data
Course Description
This course goes around the mouth of the Yoshino River. The Kyuyoshino River and Imagire River are all tributaries of the Yoshino River. Cyclists ride on the cycling road until the halfway point. The course is short and flat, so it is recommended for beginners.
Caution Areas
After the Yoshino River cycling path ends, the road on top of the embankment has heavy traffic and narrow shoulders—so use extra caution. Also, be sure to obey traffic signals when crossing national roads.
Challenging Sections
The road is mostly flat, and there are no large hills. However, there are a few places on the way to the mouth of the Yoshino River where it is easy to get lost, so pay attention to the "cycling road" signs.
Highlights
The Nagahara Ferry (free of charge) offers a short but enjoyable boat ride. The Kagasuno Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge whose deck rises and lowers while staying level, allowing ships to pass underneath. It has the largest lifting span of any road bridge in Japan. You can also watch planes at Tokushima Awaodori Airport, or get active at Tsukimigaoka Seaside Park—making this a great route for families with children.
