Challenging Sections

Highlights
The abandoned Komatsushima Line railway track, once the shortest railway line in Japan at about 1.9 km during the Japan National Railways era, has now been turned into a path divided for bicycles and pedestrians. Be sure to take on Mt. Bentenyama, officially recognized by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan as the lowest natural mountain in Japan with an elevation of 6.1 meters. At Komatsushima Station Park, you’ll find one of the world’s largest tanuki (raccoon dog) statues, which is 5 meters tall, 5 meters in circumference, and weighs 5 tons—and it even makes water flow when you clap! The view of the river from the submersible bridge is also beautiful.
