Course Description

After heading down along the southern bank of the Yoshino River, the route turns into the mountains via National Routes 193 and 438.

Caution Areas

Busy roads like National Route 192 have narrow shoulders, so use caution. The descent from Kurara Pass allows for high speeds—be sure to control your speed on the way down.

Challenging Sections

Kurara Pass on Route 193 is a long climb of 15 km with an average gradient of over 5%, making it a challenging ascent. Hill climb enthusiasts will enjoy this section.

Highlights

Around the Firefly Village, plum and cherry blossoms bloom in early spring. The area is also home to the impressive Takaoka Stone Terraces.
