Course Description

Gradually ascend through the forest while looking at Akui River on your left. Take your time and enjoy the ride as there are few cars on the road and the scenery is stunning. The countryside landscape will soothe your soul. The route has lots of natural shade from the trees making the ride cool and relaxing. Mt. Kami is also famous for its cherry blossoms which covers the town in the springtime.

Caution Areas

On the uphill portion of the course, there are some curves with poor visibility and you may encounter cars suddenly. Be careful not to ride too fast when riding downhill.

Challenging Sections

The uphill climbs are gradual but the distance is long. Take your time and rest at scenic spots.

Highlights

Along the uphill route, you'll be greeted by scarecrows created by a local community group, each dressed to match the time of year. At Roadside Station "Onsen no Sato Kamiyama," you can take a break and enjoy light meals like udon and soba. On the way down, you'll pass through the Funō Tunnel, which once supported transportation and trade as part of the former national road. This tunnel, featuring brickwork and decorative stone elements, is a popular photo spot among cyclists.
