Course Description

Cyclists can enjoy the pleasant sea breeze and the view of the ocean which changes depending on the time of day. This is a gourmet course where popular seafood restaurants are lined up on the course. There are also coffee shops and cafes that boast of stunning views of the sea.

Caution Areas

Be careful riding on National Route 11 as there is heavy traffic. After turning around at Mitsu Tunnel, there are some narrow shoulders on the road on the ocean side, so be careful of passing cars.

Challenging Sections

The course is generally flat, but the hill at the entrance of the Naruto Skyline is steep. Strong winds blow along the seaside road depending on the season.

Highlights

Enjoy fresh seafood along the coastline of National Route 11, a route packed with popular seafood restaurants. JF Kitahama Fish Market is a direct sales shop run by the local fisheries cooperative, and its bike parking area is equipped with racks. At the turnaround point, Uzushio Romantic Kaido Sculpture Park features outdoor displays of sculptures. In summer, you can also see “Hamabō”, Naruto City's official flower, with its vivid yellow blossoms along the course.

Parking Lot (Start & Goal)

UZU Park`s Cycle Station is the base of this course. There are bicycle racks, a maintenance space (rental tools available), and bicycle rentals (advance reservation required). Coin lockers and showers are also available.
