Course Description
In Oasacho Town, there is the Udatsu Pass (240m above sea level) and Hoshigoe Pass (136m above sea level). The two mountains passes have different charms, and cyclists can enjoy the scenery of each, from the fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and the countryside after descending. After riding up the pass, cyclists can feel the sense of accomplishment and exhilaration. Between the two passes, cyclists will also ride along the coastline.
Caution Areas
Be careful when riding on the Udatsu Pass as there are many curves and many cars driving on it. Hoshigoe Pass has a lot of shade, so the fallen leaves in the shaded areas may be wet and damped. Ride safely at your own pace and take it easy when riding uphill and downhill.
Challenging Sections
The slopes are not relatively challenging, but don`t rush up the slopes and ride at your own pace. It will be a little easier on lengthy slopes if you change your position when cycling, such as pedaling while standing up or sitting down, and hands on the handlebar.
Highlights
The Udatsu Pass has a steep continuous incline, but do your best to climb it! Once you start to see the sea on your left, the summit is near. You might even encounter monkeys at the top. At Hoshigoe Pass, the slope becomes steeper after passing a pond. The road is narrow but shaded, making it a pleasantly cool ride even in summer. This area is known as a habitat for Genji fireflies, and the beautiful Otani River flows nearby. Finish your ride with a gourmet reward at Roadside Station "Kurukuru Naruto!"

Parking Lot (Start & Goal)
Roadside Station "Kurukuru Naruto" serves as the base of this course. There are restaurants that uses ingredients and seafood from Naruto, as well as a wide variety of sweets made with Naruto kintoki sweet potatoes. Bicycle racks are available. You can also experience an aerial walk on the rooftop zip line (admission fee and reservations required).
