Course Data
Course Description
This course is recommended for beginners who enjoy feeling the sea breeze as they ride. It`s fun to go down the T-shaped embankment and relax. Along the course, you will find places where they dry shirasu (young sardines), a local specialty. This course is also great for families or groups.
Caution Areas
Be aware of your surroundings when riding as some areas of the bike path on the breakwater do not have guardrails.
Challenging Sections
The course is flat, but there are times when the wind is strong along the seaside. The sand makes the tires slippery, so ride with caution.
Highlights
Along the seaside road, the sunrise over the Kii Channel is especially beautiful in the early morning. On the coast stands the Wada-no-Hana Lighthouse, built in 1922 (Taisho 11). On clear days, you can also see the Naruto Bridge and wind turbines on Awaji Island. At the fishermen's cooperative shops, you can buy local chirimen (dried young sardines).
