“Pedal your way to breathtaking skies!”
The Sanagochi Okawara Highlands Hill Climb 2025 is officially on!
Okawara Highlands is regarded as the mecca of hill climbs in Tokushima, and this prestigious course is considered a rite of passage for cyclists in the region.
The race follows an individual time trial format, with riders starting one at a time in 10-second intervals. Rankings are determined by calculating the time difference between each rider’s start and finish times within their category.
In addition to age-based categories, this year’s race also includes a “Heavyweight Riders” category for participants weighing over 85 kg, and for the first time, an e-bike category—making the event accessible to a wider range of cyclists.
The starting point has been moved, extending the course from 9.77 km to 10.35 km.
With an elevation gain of 798 m, an average grade of 7.7%, and a maximum grade of 19%, this is one of Shikoku’s most challenging and scenic hill climb courses!
